In this assignment, you will use concepts from the course to identify, analyze, and develop a plan for resolving a key problem that an organization is facing. The organization can be a business, extracurricular club, athletic team, or other social organization. The report should answer the following questions based on your observations. (Use size 12 font – single spaced pages) 1) What is the nature of the problem? Give a one to two page description of the organization, its employees (members), and the problem. Be sure to describe the effect of the problem on organizational performance. (For example – high turnover, low productivity, absenteeism, etc. 2) What are the causes of the problem? Be sure to discuss the roles of management and employees. Which area(s) of Organizational Behavior (i.e., including stress, ethics, motivation, communication, conflict, negotiation, power, influence, leadership, teams and culture.) are affected by the problem? (1-2 pages) 3) How can OB concepts be applied and extended to solve the problem? Give very specific and detailed solutions. Be sure that your solutions address the identified problem and are related to OB concepts. (1-2 pages) 4) What specific action steps should the organization take to solve the problem? What changes should be implemented? Include rationale for these actions. (1 page) 5) What are the potential barriers, obstacles, and challenges to following your recommendations? (1 page) Give thorough explanations. 6) What are the risks, costs, and possible unintended consequences of following your recommendations? (1 page) Be specific and thorough. 7) How can your recommendations be communicated to the organization and overcome potential resistance? (1 page) Be specific and thorough.
