Writing Instructions

  • Part Two Outline has been put together in it’s foundations/raw state through use of Lucid Chart

Here is the link to view it: https://lucid.app/lucidchart/invitations/accept/inv_c1db6234-6549-40bd-8762-67dbf98169da?viewport_loc=-18%2C-247%2C2412%2C1816%2CGqVO5xBChydG

Please use the bottom tabs, and scroll until you get to the subtab title “Part 2 – My Study.”

  • You will see that I have left little notes and ideas along the way, however please utilize them in the way I myself intended them to be, as possibilities and brainstorming ideas of direction with their purpose to be built up upon and around with greater academic expertise

  • Policy Results: Policy Landscape #1 and #2

  • The first policy landscape is that of the province of Ontario, I have already filled out the policies that are to be used, as they were done at a basic level, quantitatively in a semester-specific class-small-research piece assignment that I have also attached as an additional material. The part that is most relevant to you begins at very bottom of page 5, “gender diversity initiatives and the questions of two spirit inclusion.” However, I included the rest as it’s a brief insight into how this topic started and then gathered moment to turn into my Thesis work.

  • Obviously this paper’s chart is very crude, and if you have any experience in creating actual graphs, or pie charts that can present this quantitative materials better please do, I’m hoping you do. It would be more effective to show that out of 34 pages, and ___ number of identity words used, only ___ # we words such as two spirit or trans.

  • This thesis builds to this quantitative ‘extent’ data and adds qualitative categories for the results discussion and recommendation pieces. How I might construct these categories is in Lucid Chart and borrow from research on bi inclusion, etc.

  • The second policy landscape I need to fulfill a “comparative policy analysis” requirement for my program. I have not yet picked it yet and am open to whatever might most interest you – perhaps comparing Ontario to another Canadian province that is more progressive on both queer and indigenous rights such as British Columbia, or to another country’s educational policy. Ideally I would like for there to be an international development angle to this second policy landscape as that is the Ph.D expertise I would like to do (returning to my Bachelors studies roots of international development vs my Masters of Comparative, International and Development Education).
